In the 4th quarter of 2019, Gulfstream announced their newest addition to their family at the NBAA Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas. The G700 aircraft. Anyone who knows about the Gulfstream G650 probably understands the popularity of the aircraft and why so many customers prefer it. Anyone who has heard about Gulfstream’s plans for the G700, probably already knows why it has a very good opportunity to be even better than the G650.
With test flights as early as February 2020, the G700 (G7) is looking to be available for delivery in 2022 and is apparently already sold out until 2023. Being boasted as one of the largest private jets on the market, there are many additional features that put this aircraft in its own class. For example, the G700 features of the longest, tallest and widest cabin available for a private jet. It has up to 5 living areas, 20 windows and can seat up to 19 passengers and sleep up to 13 passengers as per their website.
Performance
Powered by a brand new Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G700 can fly at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90 for approximately 6,400 nautical miles/11,853 km. At its long-range cruise, the aircraft can reach Mach 0.85 for 7,500 nautical miles/13,890 km (just 200 nmi less than the Bombardier Global 7500). Overall making the G700 approx. 3-5% more fuel efficient than it’s predecessors.
Along with their industry only ultrahigh-definition circadian lighting system. Another feature available in this aircraft is it’s predictive landing performance system (powered by Symmetry Flight Deck). Essentially this is a safety mechanism that shows pilots the aircraft stopping point, along with other visual cues that may be important for landing.
Interior
Gulfstream aerospace corp. has also created an “ultragalley” with 122 inches of linear counter space, crew compartment, a passenger lounge, a master suite with shower and more. It can almost be considered another living space on its own.
As per Gulfstream, they went to great lengths to understand different ways to keep noise to a minimum. By studying how submarines keep noise low. Gulfstream was able to determine a way to use these engineering techniques to provide an aircraft with the some of the lowest noise. Not just in their product line, but in the industry.
With deliveries set to begin in 2022, the new G700 ($75 million) is looking to be one of the quietest and most connected airplanes Gulfstream has ever built. Keep checking back as we will be staying up to date with the project and any exciting new developments that may arise.
*These are general specifications of the above mentioned aircraft. Please see each listing for details on their individual specifications, layout and performance.
