In April 2017, Daher announced the upcoming release of the TBM 910 turboprop at the SUN n’ FUN Aerospace Expo in Florida. The 910 is an upgrade to the 900 model and comes with additional features / changes such as; the Garmin G1000 NXi flight deck, new seating design (similar to the 930), improved cockpit connectivity and more.
The 910 is also known as one of the first single engine turboprops to include single-lever control.
Performance
The TBM 910 is a single engine turboprop that is powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A (1,825 horsepower). The power plant is considered very easy to maintain, is very efficient and has low operating costs. It also includes single-lever power control and an auto-starter shut off.
The maximum range that can be achieved by the this aircraft is approximately 1,730 nautical miles, although most routine flights using the 910, average somewhere around 1,200 nautical miles (with 4 pax). The maximum cruise speed is approximately Mach 0.49, while it’s maximum cruise altitude / service ceiling is approx 31,000 ft.
The propeller (five blade) is designed by Hartzell Propeller and has been made to help improve the aircraft’s takeoff distance, cruise speed and climb. With that being said, this turboprops maximum takeoff distance is approx 2,380 ft (726 m) and it’s maximum landing distance is approx 2,430 ft (741 m). In addition, its time-to-climb is approx 18 minutes and 45 seconds.
Interior
The cabin in the TBM 910 can also be customized in many different configurations. By default, this aircraft is capable of transporting up to 6 passengers. However, it can be configured in different ways to allow for more baggage and less passengers. This is one of the reasons why it is considered an SUV type of design.
In terms of its measurements, the cabin is approx 4 ft in height, 3 ft 12′ in width and 13 ft 4′ in length.
As mentioned earlier, the avionics included with the 910 is the Garmin G1000 NXi all-glass integrated flight deck. It includes high resolution displays for presenting data, and also includes a feature called the “e-copilot”. This is an additional safety improvement by TBM, that helps reduce pilot workload.
Additional Information
- The upgraded avionics system allows more aviation data to be managed along with enhanced situational awareness for the pilot.
- The seating is covered with top grain leather and has quite detailed stitching.
*These are general specifications of the above mentioned aircraft. Please see each listing for details on their individual specifications, layout and performance.
